In 1986, our winery was among the first to market wines protected by the "Vinos de la Tierra" designation, guaranteeing the origin of Albariño from Salnés. Following this experience, we actively participated in the creation of the renowned Rías Baixas Designation of Origin, and we are proud to be the second winery to register.

At the westernmost end of the Atlantic Celtic corridor, in the lands of Galicia, José Chaves Chaves founded the winery in 1955 CHAVES, with the same name for their wines. From parents to children, continuity was guaranteed, and the generational handover boosted the dream, first by bringing vigor and drive to an increasingly stimulating and dynamic project.
