It was in 1955 when José Chaves Chaves He founded the CHAVES winery, a dream born from his love for the land and winemaking. From day one, the family legacy became the cornerstone of this project, ensuring its continuity from parents to children and consolidating a tradition that has transcended generations.
A Legacy that Evolves with Time
In 1986, the CHAVES winery positioned itself as a pioneer by being one of the first to market wines protected under the designation «"Wines of the Land"», guaranteeing the origin and quality of Albariño from Val do Salnés. This milestone marked a turning point in our history, laying the foundation for something even greater.
That same visionary spirit led us to actively participate in the creation of the prestigious Rías Baixas Denomination of Origin, becoming the second winery registered in their registry. This achievement not only reaffirmed our commitment to excellence, but also put us on the map as leaders in Galician winemaking.
