FORNOS: The Origin of Our History
Our journey begins in Fornos, the first vineyard of our winery. Located on a hillside between Ribadumia and Cambados, this stony and dry land, known as "castel" by our ancestors, proved to be ideal for the cultivation of Albariño.
In honor of this heritage, it was born Castel de Fornos, the brand that pays tribute to the effort and vision of those who came before us. This vineyard not only marked the beginning of our journey, but also cemented our love for a land that has given us so much.
TO XESTEIRA: A Family Legacy
In the 1970s, our grandfather looked to the future and chose the place of Cabanelas, ...also in Ribadumia, to expand our passion for wine. That's how it all began A Xesteira, an 8,000 square meter Albariño plantation that responded to the growing demand for a wine that was beginning to gain renown for its exceptional qualities.
In addition to Albariño, this vineyard is home to centuries-old vines of native varieties such as caiño y sword, with which we produced the first red wine with the Rías Baixas Designation of Origin. This project not only honors our grandfather's legacy, but also inspires us to take the tradition beyond our borders.
A MODIA: Excellence in Every Detail
With its 2 hectares in area, To Modia For decades, it was the largest vineyard in our winery. Located in Cambados, this land stands out for its southern orientation, which guarantees perfect sunlight, and the influence of the Arousa sea breeze, which brings freshness and uniqueness to our grapes.
Here, every detail matters. From the weather conditions to the meticulous monitoring of the soil, everything is designed to produce harvests of unsurpassed quality. It is in this vineyard that our wine is born. Harvest Selection, a wine that embodies dedication and care for every process.
Committed to sustainability, we use bagasse compost to enrich the soil, closing the nutrient cycle and ensuring responsible use of natural resources.
